Monkey D. Luffy is Cover Boy.

In the Japanese men edition of fashion magazine “Non-no”, the highly known Japanese manga and Anime character “Monkey D. Luffy”  historically becomes the first animated character to be featured on the cover. I’m a huge Anime fan creator Eiichiro Oda Manga and  I’ve been watching “One Piece” ever since it first began airing in Japan many years ago (via fan-subs). One Piece is a wondrous tale and I recommend to anyone who don’t know what it is, to go look it up. The series is currently licensed by Anime distribution company Funimation and has a string of DVD releases available to own. The series has over 500 Manga chapters, 428 animated episodes and still counting, with a string of movies under its belt.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

It continues to surprise me how beautiful some stop motion animation can be. “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” is an great example of this format in motion. I’m a die hard admirer of standard 2D however, after watching this film, I’m really desiring to see some of my favorite cartoons in stop motion animation as well. The film is adapted from the children’s book with the same title. Written by Roald Dahl, the story follows main character Mr. Fox, as he steals food to provide for his starving family from wealthy tycoons with evil intensions. The film is a great adaption and is very enjoyable. It stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and many more. It is directed, produced, and written by the amusing Director, Wes Anderson (Royal Tenenbuams).

BEN 10: Alien Swarm.

Ben 10 transitioned its self from a cartoon series to a live action movie before and is back for second time in live form. However, this time around he takes shape as the older cartoon counterpart and with the help of his comrades he must battle an invading force trying to enslave the human race. I really don’t like television made live action Sci-fi movies because the CGI in these films are really cheep sometimes. However, watching most of the trailers for this film; it seems they’ve used only a moderate amount of CGI and it seems to work for them – doesn’t look out of place or cheaply done. The film stars Ryan Kelley (Ben), Galadriel Stineman (Gwen), and Nathan Keyes (Kevin). The film is directed by Actor, Alex Winter (1989′s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Forever.

So its been over a decade and the turtles are still kicking. As part of their 25th anniversary, Mirage and 4Kids Entertainment, the people behind the 2k3 series have joined forces to bring you “Turtles Forever”. In this direct to DVD movie, the Ninja Turtles from the popular 80′s toon team up with the Ninja Turtles from the 2k3 series in order to stop 2k3′s villain, Krang aka Shedder from destroying the Turtles universe – literally. We get a special treat at the end when the appearance of the original Mirage comic book Turtles make their debut in animation form. Turtles Forever is witty, amusing, and well animated. Its hard to believe after so many years the Turtles are still mean, green, ninja butt kicking machines. All in all, Turtles Forever is – Cowabunga.
